The Passing Out Parade

At its peak during WW2, the women’s branch of the British Army, known as the Auxiliary Territorial Service or ATS, boasted more than 200,000 recruits. In The Passing Out Parade, written by Anne Valery and set in 1944, we meet seven raw girls who have just signed up and follow their trials and tribulations at the hands of Joyce “blood-and-guts” Pickering. But can she turn the girls from “anguished amateurs” into “perfectly drilled faceless soldiers”?

Performances are on Thursday 26th, Friday 27th, and Saturday 28th November at 7.30pm in Testbourne Theatre.

To book tickets now, at £5 (£4 concessions), please call Claire on 01256 892514 or email her at info@wadsweb.org.uk. From 14th November, you can also buy them at Newbury Building Society and Whitchurch Library.

22 Nov 2008 Reminder ~ Snow White and the Curse of the Ice Queen

Thursday 4th, Friday 5th, Saturday 6th at 7pm

Matinee, Saturday 6th at 3pm

Rehearsals for the Whitchurch Amateur Dramatic Society’s pantomime are going well despite an initially fluctuating cast. The dwarves in particular were yo-yo-ing in size like guests on Oprah. It has been splendid to include some of our younger members and some newcomers and we always look forward to welcoming more of these. So come along and see Snow White cope with her embarrassing mother, avaricious sister, and friends of modest environmental impact.

Will the Snow Queen get her man, or will he be indoors doing his nails? Will Prod the goblin turn back into a man before your very eyes? Oh yes they will! Oh no they won’t!

The Box Office will be open at the Town Hall in Whitchurch on Saturday 22 and 29 November between 9.30 and 11.30. Snow White will also be an occasional visitor selling tickets during that time, between the Town Hall and the Library. Or you can pre-order your tickets by telephone from Claire on 01256 892 514
