Pub Race Creativity
Nearly 30 teams participated in this year’s pub race. A myriad of artistic flair was on display (even before the first pint was drunk).

If you pop down to the Sports and Social Club (opposite The Millennium Meadow) for this weekend’s Beer Festival, then you likely spot some Pub Life Art on the walls!

Crowds participate in the folk festival at Harvest Home
The Harvest Home pub on Winchester Street was packed full for the afternoon session of the Whitchurch Folk Festival.
There were young and old from near and far listening and singing.
Overton's Sword Dancers put on a sharp show.
A myriad of musical instruments, from spoons-on-knees, to banjos, guitars, flutes, violin, mouth organs and drums. And some lovely singers.
In the afternoon, a performance by the Overton Sword Dancers wowed the crowd with their artistic routine.

Many local pubs will be displaying art by members of Whitchurch Arts during the Whitchurch Beer Festival, which is coming up on 21-23 November 2008.
If you are an artist and want your stuff seen by the masses, then be sure to take part!
Its easy: make some hangable art on the theme “Pub Life” (e.g. picture, photo, painting, drawing, small ceramic, …) and then contact us so that we can coordinate which pubs get what. The landlord will have final say on what is shown in their pub.
