Catherine of Aragon garden designed by Graham Burgess with art by Whitchurch Arts artists shown on BBC2

A garden designed by Graham Burgess and displaying works of art by Whitchurch Artists was shown on BBC2 this evening.

The show made a brief visit to the 8 specially designed gardens based around Henry VIII’s ill-fated wives.

Graham’s was the first: Catherine of Aragon.

More is promised by BBC2 in episodes later this week.

Stephen Miller is an award winning painter.

Most recently, he took second place in the Family Christmas Window Decoration competition for his “Painted Santa” window; and he has been commissioned to produce paintings that will be displayed at the 2009 Hampton Court Flower Show.
Perhaps most famously, he is the renowned artist behind the loos on the Meadow.

hamptoncourtpalaceflowershow2009-logoWhitchurch Arts members have won a prestigious place at this July’s Hampton Court Palace International Flower Show.

Graham Burgess, the chair of Whitchurch Arts, will be creating a garden for the show along with Whitchurch Arts member Stephen Miller and other local artists Paul Harvey and Shelley Gibb.

The garden is one of several that depict the life of King Henry VIII, who ascended to the throne 500 years ago this year.  Graham’s garden is all about Katherine of Arragon.
